Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our Material to Vendor (MTV) Team based out of Baltimore, MD.

The MTV team is closely integrated with factory production, logistics, and inventory operations, all under the umbrella of PMC. PMC works closely with various functional teams to plan and communicate and ensure production capabilities are maintained, driving manufacturing and support teams to meet production goals and mitigate and recover operational objectives. You will be working on-site between Linthicum, MD and Halethorpe, MD. This position supports NGMS BWI campus manufacturing through the coordination of activities that require outside vendor operations (OVO) that support the Production and Material Control (PMC) organization.

What You’ll get to Do:

Defines and develops material strategy for MTV

Aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements

Plans inventory & distribution requirements for MTV production, material for area products

Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools

Creates/reduces MTV supply requirements based on inventory adjustments and product routing

Interface with source process areas regarding inventory levels, routings, logistics, and issue resolution

Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements and OVO

Specific responsibilities include the following:

CBY & SBY –

Proactive reporting, analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional program teams in support of MTV execution, including the following:

Manage MTV mailbox, creating MTV tasks via MS Teams  

Communicate issues, status, and metrics to stakeholders (Program OPM, GSC, PMC, QME)

Exception Requests

Monitor and process MTV exception requests (SharePoint) Track C Make/Buy material through kitting process and expedite as needed

Coordinate with groups requesting exception requests and submit vetted exception requests to Management for approval

Reporting

Run weekly & monthly MTV metrics reports

Support Metrics Meetings – help review metrics data and create slides to allow for presentation of overall MTV Operations Metrics

Upload open PRs to MTV SharePoint (C and T Make/Buy material)

Coordinate priorities of C and T Make/Buy material in inspection

Coordinate Kitting Priority with Kitting Team and MTV Analyst Group

Coordinate and discuss overall MTV efforts with MTV analyst, and Management to align team priority and goals

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of manufacturing, planning, or logistics work experience, Master’s degree and 8 years of manufacturing, planning, or logistics work experience

Basic knowledge of MS Office tools, specifically Excel and Outlook with experience using MS Project

Basic understanding of MRP Systems

Ability to work on-site and commute between facilities

Experience in work planning, creating & managing schedules, and training/mentoring junior colleagues

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced MS Project User

Experience with SAP

Familiarity with Product Control functions

Experience leading special projects

Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance

Salary Range: $104,900.00 - $157,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
