What You Will Do:

Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHat Enterprise/Microsoft Windows and environment.

Lead and coordinate the Red Hat Installation and configuration.

Participate in all phases of Engineering software installation and support, with emphasis on testing, documentation, and acceptance phases.

Collaborate with teams and mentor junior Linux admins.

Apply understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. 

Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).

Participate and lead technical meetings with team members and program personnel representing the organization in functional area matters.

Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.

Responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Linux/Windows infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support

Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned. 

Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours

Full time 100% Onsite position

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience.

Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies:  Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, BackupExec, NetBackup, prior systems administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, Backup and Recovery enterprise suites

Must have experience in mentoring others or lead experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

Active DoD T/S clearance, or the ability to obtain one

Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) and an Operating System Certification. 

Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF

In-depth working experience in RedHat Enterprise Linux

Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions

Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development

Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange

High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment

Experience with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and ability to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems

Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Linux Desktops, Windows desktops (Windows 10, 11), Splunk and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods

Scripting/ automation PowerShell, Bash

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
