Northrop Grumman's Tactical Space Division Systems is seeking a motivated candidate that will fill the position of Command and Data Handling (CDH) Electrical Systems Engineer. This position supports the program / project staff in the analysis, investigation and resolution of engineering electrical systems problems, subsystem requirements development, tasking, and schedule management as required by the program. Interacts with internal staff and customer base. Provides direction as appropriate to design or technician staff. Reports status and participates in internal and external design reviews. Depending on assignment, tasks other technical team members
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop subsystem requirementsDevelops cost estimates for proposals and programs as required.Develops and manages schedule and resources as required by the program / project.Effectively operate within a multi-discipline engineering team.Provide technical oversight to ensure the electrical system is compliant and verifiable at the avionics digital and analog telemetry level.Analyze and interprets requirements at the space vehicle level and flows down requirements to lower level specifications.Evaluates and coordinates electrical system designs to ensure system-level requirements are met.Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.Develop space vehicle level interface designs.Provides technical coordination of vendors and suppliers.Represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.Analyzes and designs avionics systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.Other duties as assignedBasic Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering and 9 years of experience 7 years with a Masters and 4 years with a PhD. in FPGA design experience.Current TS SCI Clearance at time of applicationExperience with creating and tracking schedules using project tracking tools such as Microsoft projectExperience with EVMS and creating variance reports.Experience leading teams of engineers managing resources and schedulesExperience with requirements tracking tool such as DOORSStrong verbal and written communications skillsStrong interpersonal skillsPreferred Requirements:Experience in satellite Electrical Systems design.
Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
