This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. **Your Key Responsibilities** + Supervising and mentoring other Designers/Drafters + Quantity calculations and cost estimating + Feasibility analyses, engineering design, + Organize and interpret engineering data to prepare clear and concise design drawings, engineering reports and technical documentation + Field work responsibilities may include performing project construction observation, interpret contract documents, enforce contract specifications, and review submittals for accuracy, completeness and design consistency. + Prioritize and accomplish multiple assignments efficiently and effectively + Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures + Performs thorough quality control of construction documents and provides design ideas and solutions. + Interfaces with clients and construction personnel on technical terms + Estimates job man-hours and schedule accurately + Tracks progress of job from schedule and cost standpoint + Communicates job requirements and design intent to others + Motivates team members and is an impartial decision maker **Qualifications** **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Has well-developed understanding of relevant areas of design including codes and requirements specific to local geographic market. + Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. + Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation. + Proficient in relevant 3D Piping software programs including but not limited to: AutoCAD CADWorx, PDMS, MicroStation and/or Revit. Ability to work in all 3D CAD environments. + Able to work under and meet tight deadlines. + Field experience. Can Perform as-builts needed for piping design. P&ids, equipment, supports anchors, guides etc + Proven mentoring skills and desire to work with and encourage junior staff. + Ability to review and approve work. + Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to write clear, thorough technical reports. + Demonstrated ability to handle multiple jobs/projects. + Proven problem-solving skills. + Excellent organizational skills. + Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. + Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License. + Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful passing of a drug and alcohol screen. **Education and Experience** Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory and leadership experience is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of experience. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
