The Opportunity

This position works out of our St Paul, MN location in the Structural Heart Medical Device division.  Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.

This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Leads projects and technical staff to develop engineering solutions to significant new products or processes; implements major line improvement or capital building projects. Establishes engineering project objectives and technical criteria for evaluating project results and activities of project team. Develops processes that lead to shortened cycle time; makes major impact decisions. Is responsible for important segment of engineering program of an organization with diversified engineering requirements. Focuses on business end and recommends facilities, personnel and funds required to carry out programs to reach overall organizational objectives.

What You’ll Work On

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Develops, plans, coordinates and directs engineering aspects of projects of major scope and importance.

Support Structural Heart operations through capital equipment projects focused on capacity and/or efficiency

Defines roles and accountabilities to avoid duplicate functions, manages external engineering services effectively.

Recommends facilities, personnel and funds required to carry out projects. Regularly requires use of ingenuity and creative thinking.

Focuses on cost and milestone achievement to keep costs low and productivity high.

Coordinates resources for projects.

Assists management in training, managing and evaluating less experienced engineering and technical staff.

Represents division on projects.

Helps individuals overcome resistance to change.

Required Qualifications

Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical or any engineering or technical degree or equivalent experience required

Minimum 5 years manufacturing engineering experience. Prior manufacturing engineering experience is preferred, but not required.

Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills

Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings

Ability to lead and motivate peers, drive change and problem solve with creativity.

Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

Medical device experience preferred, but not required

The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
