Job Overview TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.What your background should look like:

Responsibilities and authority

Responsible to conceptualize & Design, at an intermediate level of complexity, new assembly equipment (Manual, semi-Auto & Automatic equipment). Acts as lead on mechanical designs on Projects. Responsible to deliver 2D & 3D packages for new equipment Works closely with all product engineering (Connectors, Cables, E-Mobility, Headers) to develop in-house processes and / or external resources to ensure that the design is manufacturable at lowest cost. Responsible for BOM creation & delivery, along with hard quotes from suppliers. Responsible for supporting design reviews (all phases) along with Mfg Engineer & Project Managers. To assure designs captures & assure all PFMEA requirements are meet. Responsible to provide & incorporating lessons learned of manufacturing issues, along with project management of new product launch. Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Work is predominantly intellectual in nature. Automation and/or tooling design using CREO / Solid Works is a critical skill. To work closely with Control Engineers to assure electric architecture of equipment, fits best need and to select best hardware. Support construction and assembly of equipment as intend. Support DOE (Design of experiments), prototype & testing of new devices (as required). Carries out actions to reduce environmental impact, as well as activities for compliance with the ISO14001 standard. Authority to stop a process in which there is the possibility of harming the environment or/and that is outside environmental legal compliance.

Requirements

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Process Design. At least 5 years of documented manufacturing and automation design experience Automotive Industry experience required  Specific qualification, knowledge and skills Proficient in machine, tool, and fixture design using CREO  / Solid Works. Intermediate knowledge in tooling manufacturing Intermediate knowledge in materials property Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, Microsoft Project and Outlook. Intermediate Project Management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Passport. International travel required. Individual must be a “Team Player” that can work in a fast pace environment with multiple changing priorities and be a self-starter. Problem Solving Intermediate English level Knowledge applicable to the position in IATF 16949 and ISO 14001. Knowledge of Safety and Environment Regulations and the environmental management system that apply to the company

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
