As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Rewards Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

 

Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendorsDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersDrives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processesServes as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focusActively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software  Development Life CycleInfluences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologiesAdds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing and operational stability.Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying language.Hands-on practical experience in developing spark-based Frameworks for end-to-end ETL, ELT & reporting solutions using key components like Spark Core & Spark Streaming. Proficient in coding in one or more Coding languages – Java or PythonExperience building Data Warehouse platform. Experience on ETL Reverse Engineering, Data Governance and Data Model concept nice to have.Cloud implementation experience with AWS including:AWS Data Services: Proficiency in Lake formation, Glue ETL (or) EMR, S3, Glue Catalog, Athena, Airflow (or) Lambda + Step Functions + Event BridgeData De/Serialization: Expertise in at least 2 of the formats: Parquet, Iceberg, AVRO, JSONAWS Data Security: Good Understanding of security concepts such as: Lake formation, IAM, Service roles, Encryption, KMS, Secrets ManagerPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience in Snowflake nice to have.Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods. Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems. Practical cloud native experience preferably AWS.Experience on leading and managing team members.
