Sr Manager Business Development and Operations
Overview

The Senior Manager, Business Development and Operations for our Marketplace team, will focus on driving profitable growth and innovation within the Marketplace business. This role will be instrumental in shaping how we integrate new partners, enhance existing marketplace capabilities, processes and operations, and deliver optimal product offerings wherever consumers choose to shop.
You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage end-to-end processes for new account integrations, technical implementations, and operational trade enablement rollouts. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing digital projects, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and the ability to influence and align diverse teams. Prior work experience working with Marketplaces in a similar role is a big plus.

What You'll Do

Business Development and Partnership Management:

Manage the end-to-end rollout of new partners, including account kick-offs, middleware coordination, commercial negotiations, account forecasting and technical implementation. Effectively communicate the value of the Marketplace to potential accounts, focusing on mutual benefits and long-term growth opportunities. Lead the introduction of new marketplace capabilities by aligning internal and external stakeholders, developing business cases, and overseeing technical execution. Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including account teams, middleware provider teams, Distribution and Logistics teams, and Digital Merchandising and Trading teams.

 

Operational Excellence and Project Management:

Drive multiple integrations and projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. Monitor project variables (cost, scope, effort) and implement corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with IT and Global Technology Product teams to ensure timely delivery of project goals. Establish and refine processes and workflows to support Marketplace growth, aligning actions with internal teams.

 

Team Support and Alignment

Draw upon sell-out and market intelligence tools to inform consumer trends when selling ranges, and feeding back new product insights to global product creation teams. Partner with Sales and Planning to ensure on-hand inventory is being leveraged to fulfill customer orderbooks, in line with Integrated Business Plan (IBP) Build and support tools that allow to drive profitable sales across the different marketplace channels and models.

 

Strategic Collaboration and Growth

Partner with internal stakeholders to define the Integration and Enhancement Roadmap, focusing not only on partner integrations and market extensions, but also on capabilities that enhance day to day trade capabilities. Identify new business opportunities, translating them into actionable business cases and process maps. Collaborate with Global IT, Finance, Legal, and Distribution and Logistics teams to streamline project implementation. Proactively recommend strategies and process improvements to accelerate growth.


Team development:

Work closely with Director eTail & Marketplaces Merchandising & Trading EMEA to support strategic projects and decision-making. Ensure seamless handovers between Business Development and Trading, Operations, and other teams. Manage and develop a direct report responsible for Marketplace Operations. What You'll Bring to the Table Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field. +5 years in Digital, eCommerce and Marketplace roles Business Development experience, ideally coupled with business operations Proven track record of managing projects and delivering results in digital/marketplace settings. Fluency in English (additional European language is a plus). Outstanding project management capabilities, with experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives. Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills to influence stakeholders effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset and advanced MS office proficiency, especially in MS Powerpoint. Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to changing priorities. Occasional travel to meet Partners in Europe, and travel to HQ in USA.
