As a Senior HSE Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for\noverseeing and managing the health, safety, and environmental engineering\nefforts within our Aerospace Technologies business unit. You will play a crucial\nrole in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety for our employees,\ncompliance with environmental regulations, and the implementation of best\npractices in engineering-related safety. You will collaborate with a dedicated\nteam of HSE professionals and other departments to promote a culture of safety\nand environmental responsibility.
You will report directly to our HSE&F Manager and you will work out of our\nPenang, Malaysia location.
In this role, you will impact our organization by developing and implementing\nhealth, safety, and environmental programs that ensure compliance with\nregulations and industry standards. Your leadership in driving continuous\nimprovement in HSE performance will not only protect our workforce but also\nenhance operational efficiency and productivity. Your ability to identify\nsafety initiatives and advocate for HSE practices will contribute to the\noverall resiliency and sustainability of our business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies that align with the\norganization's mission, ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental\nresponsibility.
• Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant health, safety, and\nenvironmental regulations, permits, and certifications.
• Stay updated on changing regulations and industry best practices.
• Develop and implement proactive safety measures, training, and policies to\nprevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses in the workplace.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential\nhazards, providing engineering solutions and preventive measures.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for HSE-related\nincidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies.
• Develop and manage the HSE budget, allocate resources, and seek\ncost-effective solutions to maintain high standards of health, safety, and\nenvironmental protection.
• Promote environmental sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices\nand minimizing the environmental impact of the organization's operations.
• Establish and enforce quality control standards in HSE engineering,\nconducting regular inspections and performance assessments.
• Leverage advanced technology solutions to enhance safety and environmental\nmonitoring, reporting, and incident response.
• Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management, and\nexternal stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training, and\neducation on HSE matters.
YOU MUST HAVE
• 6+ years of experience in HSE engineering
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best\npractices.
• Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
• Certification in HSE related field is a plus, such as\nSafety and Health Officer (SHO), Certified Environmental Professional In\nScheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM), Radiation Protection Officer (RPO), Certified\nEnvironmental Professionals in Sewage Treatment Plant Operation (CePSTPO) or any\nother related certifications will be added advantage.
