Sr Generalist Artist

Senior Generalists create photo-real, seamlessly-integrated environments and landscapes. They have a vast knowledge of multiple workflows and can turn around beautiful work quickly to help the VFX Supe and client shape the vision of shots.
**What You’ll Do**
+ Quickly create high quality computer graphics within a timeline and with minimal supervision
+ Create lighting setups with complex shaders that look convincing and render efficiently
+ Source suitable reference materials for required assets
+ Participate as a team member by providing feedback to other members of the show and by attending dailies on a regular basis
+ Interpret feedback to respond to review notes with little Supervisor direction
+ Mentor Apprentice and Junior Artists and assist them with their shots
+ Help develop and test tools and techniques before they are rolled out to shot artists
+ May be called upon to act as a Lead on a sequence of shots and create the look that the rest of the team follows
**What We’re Looking For**
+ Degree OR 5 years relevant experience (professional OR amateur)
+ Proven ability in one or more CG techniques, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, matte painting or compositing
+ Excellent communication and team oriented thinking
+ Demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new software
+ Fluent in some or all of these software packages: Houdini, 3dsmax, Photoshop, Maya and a ray trace renderer. Comparable software experience considered
+ Good working knowledge of specialist tools and plugins like Multiscatter, Speedtree, etc

The hiring range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $132,300 to $169,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
