About the role:As a Senior Engineer you will report to the Manager of Plant Mechanical Engineering & Issue Resolution within the Layout Engineering group in the Global Engineering and Component Services organization.
This position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.
You will be within the Layout Engineering group in the Global Engineering and Component Services (GECS) organization. The primary roles within this group include nuclear plant site layout, equipment, piping and HVAC layout, plant hazards assessments and other activities for layout. You will provide broad-ranging experience of advanced nuclear plant designs including interfaces with systems, equipment, structures, and physical plant arrangement.
Main Responsibilities:Support teams for design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear and non-nuclear projects
Technical coordination between functional areas for plant design and parameters.
Reduce potential physical layout conflicts between commodities
Physical arrangement assessments of nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and supports using multi-dimensional (3D) design software.
Author, review and verify engineering designs and conduct in-depth reviews of 3D model and plant designs working w/ WNEXUS.
Prepare technical reports to satisfy regulatory, code, and contract requirements
Interface w/ engineers in different department and global work locations to support design, fabrication, and construction organizations responding requests for information (RFI’s), identify design changes, and address deviations
Qualifications:4-10 years' experience
BS Engineering (Civil/Structural/Architectural or Mechanical)
3D modeling software for physical equipment arrangements and site layout plot plans
Visual and spatial design skills
Leadership and program management skills
