SR. DIRECTOR ENGINEERING –\nHTS GLOBAL R&D TRANSFORMATION LEADER
TRANSFORM THE HTS R&D\nFUNCTION TO BE THE GROWTH ENGINE FOR HONEYWELL
Role Summary:
The Global R&D Transformation (RDT) Leader drives initiatives\nto enhance the effectiveness, innovation, and efficiency of Honeywell\nTechnology Solutions (HTS) R&D operations across all global sites. It is a pivotal\nrole in driving Engineering Operations (EOPS), Program Management (PMO)\nExcellence, Learning and Talent transformation (L&TT), Process Excellence\nacross businesses, functions and sites with a vision to transform HTS R&D\nfunction to be the growth engine for Honeywell.
The leader ensures alignment with HTS Global Strategic Plan and\nAnnual Operating Plan (AOP), focusing on engineering operations, talent\ntransformation and process excellence.
The role requires strong technical expertise, strategic vision,\nand leadership capabilities to collaborate with global teams, engineering\nleaders, and COEs, transforming HTS into a key enabler of Honeywell’s growth\nand success.
The role will report to HTS Global President and matrix into VP\nEngineering Transformation.
R&D TRANSFORMATION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Execution Excellence:
Drive program execution excellence across all HTS sites by partnering with SBG PMOs, ensuring superior delivery outcomes and alignment with AOP goals.
Oversee program execution, launch compliance, and revenue pipeline to accelerate product launches and meet revenue targets.
Co-own the Program Management (PM) skill development and excellence with the SBG Leaders and PMO leaders for all SBGs. Drive PM leadership development programs across all HTS sites; Develop and implement strategies to drive operational excellence and improve program delivery.
Engineering Operations (EOPS):
Drive EOPS excellence globally, collaborating with SBG EOPS leaders to standardize and optimize operational processes and deliver results aligned to HTS priorities.
TRR Framework Ownership:
Own the Technical Resource Review (TRR) process globally, maintaining and upgrading tools to meet evolving requirements across engineering functions.
Ensure effective execution of TRR initiatives in collaboration with SBG stakeholders.
Learning & Talent Transformation:
Develop and execute global learning solutions for HTS Globally and engineering organizations, partnering with SBG SPOCs to enhance talent development and technical capabilities.
Lead technical leadership development programs to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Process Excellence:
Institutionalize and sustain CMMI practices, Agile methodologies, and Honeywell Operating System (HOS) principles across global HTS sites.
Drive HTS Management Operating System (MOS) maturity and functional transformation across locations, working with site champions and engineering leaders.
Supplier Governance:
Manage partnerships with preferred suppliers globally, ensuring compliance with Honeywell’s outsourcing policies and addressing operational challenges to achieve execution excellence.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Spearhead monthly and quarterly reviews with SBG PMO leaders to ensure engineering services partners meet program execution and operational excellence expectations.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the global RDT team, fostering a culture of innovation, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Drive Honeywell Performance Development (HPD), Global Compensation Planning (GCP), Management Resource Reviews (MRR), Succession Planning, TRR, and employee recognition for engineers globally.
Lead talent strategies for hiring, retention, rewards, and differentiation to create a high-performing global engineering team.
Act as a key communicator of vision, strategy, and work priorities across global teams.
Leverage expertise in change management to navigate technological and business challenges effectively.
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering
18+ years of industry experience with 10+ years of experience in engineering relevant leadership roles
Proven history of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
Strong program management, process management, technology & strategy management skills experienced technical manager of development engineering.
Strong people skills with the ability to facilitate diverse groups, help negotiate priorities and resolve conflicts.
Ability to work in highly matrix environment and manage constant change and evolution.
Keen and aware of the business and technological opportunities and challenges
Strategic thinking and effective management implementation on complex projects
Compelling evidence of change management expertise
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including Agile and DevSecOps.
Experience with CMMI certification and driving MOS maturity.
