Sr Director of Operations
Provides strategic executive level oversight for the Mission Support Services portfolio of programs. This position will mentor Management Staff to improve service delivery and the standardization of Program Management expectations and techniques. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee the management and service delivery for new programs from concept through completion. **Responsibilities** + Directs the organization's operations function and develops operational programs, policies, and processes. + Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management. + Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization. + Experienced Director responsible for contributing to strategic planning, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with executive management. + Approves and allocates resources based on business priorities. Evaluates and recommends changes to policies or procedures. + Oversees recurring or daily functions or processes necessary for business execution and identifies opportunities for improvement or efficiencies. + Develops strategies meant to assist the business in meeting its critical goals and objectives in the most efficient manner possible. + Fully understand all aspects of projects within the portfolio to effectively communicate status and growth strategies organization wide. + Responsible for managing relationships between Program Management and new and existing Customers + Represents the values and commitment of Akima to customers and teaming partners. + Provides substantial individual contribution for proposal business development activities as required. + Ensures effective contract management is taking place by applying service delivery management best practices (e.g. PMI based practices) + Develops strategies and work plan for accomplishing customer tasking and achieving stated corporate objectives. + Must be able to multitask, remain flexible, and be willing to grow with our business. The ideal candidate will be experienced handling multiple large-scale projects and take on other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + Minimum of 8-10 years in a Managerial role in technical and professional services planning, implementing, and staffing projects or sites. + Minimum of 10 years in the Federal sector. + Strong experience in Portfolio Financial Execution to include P&L, Forecasting, and Budget Planning with the ability developer appropriate briefings for executives. + Demonstrated ability to meet objectives driven by firm deliverable deadlines. + Knowledge of organizational planning, business process re-engineering, information management, and standard government acquisition processes. + Strong experience in all facets of business growth to include Business Development, Capture, Pricing, and Proposal Mangement. + Excellent communication skills; oral, written, and analytical skills. + Excellent time management, decision-making, presentation, human relations, and organization skills. + PMP Certification preferred. + Knowledge of the FAR. + Experience with multiple contract types including CPFF, FFP, T&M. + Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required. + Top Secret clearance highly preferred. **Job ID** 2025-15875 **Work Type** Remote **Pay Range** 200000-265000 **Benefits** Regular - The company offers a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) and a range of other voluntary benefits.
