WORK SHIFT
DAY (United States of America)SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Develop and direct methods and strategy for effective healthcare economics, health policy and reimbursement activities. Develop and manage key business priorities related to health economics aligned with current and future product launches.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
1. Establish and foster key relationship with medical societies, payers, hospital administrators and other thought leaders/key customers to positively position the company and to drive market strategies in collaboration with Marketing.
2. Assist with supporting and building strategic vision and new commercial business opportunities and innovation that leads to a solid strategic “value proposition”.
3. Work as part of a cross-functional team (Such as but not limited to: Marketing, Finance, Sales, & ESG) to develop the economic value proposition, addressing the specific concerns of payers, providers, hospitals, and patients. Scope of work will include the following:
a. Development of budget impact analysis
b. Inclusion of economic data collection via Registry, if/when appropriate
c. Cost effectiveness modeling
d. Use of claims data to support key economic propositions
4. Partner with new product development team to ensure healthcare economics is part of each phase of product development. This would include economic assessments for pipeline products, modern technology initiatives or market opportunities in various geographies, i.e., US, OUS.
5. Manage the reimbursement/coding/coverage manager and associate(s) which also includes the Authorization Assistance (AA) program.
6. Develop economic models, presentations, and other materials to support provider and payer initiatives; high level economic sales tools that are compliant for sales use – if allowed.
7. Market access initiatives, including working with executives at targeted payers for favorable coverage opportunities.
8. Assist with implementing key reimbursement tactics including the following:
a. CPT Editorial Panel and RUC committee work activities when applicable.
b. Assist with developing and implementing medical society support activities when/where applicable.
c. Driving cross-specialty buy-in for more comprehensive GERD treatment protocols.
9. Maintain a deep expertise of macro/micro healthcare clinical and economic issues impacting the business, with a relentless focus on market implications to current and future company’s technologies.
10. Communicate with Marketing, Sales and Product Development teams on specific issues and territory level sales initiatives.
11. Participate in professional organizations, conventions, conferences, and seminars to keep up with the current industry best practices where applicable.
12. Submit monthly report activities, progress and follow-up needed.
13. Support the Quality teams of policies and system.
14. Performs other duties and tasks as required.
SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education and/or equivalent experience to a Bachelors’ Degree in a life science, health economics, business administration, healthcare administration field, or any related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in practice in a clinical environment managing patients and performing complex interventional procedures.
• Understanding of key public and private payer policy infrastructure, payment methodologies coding and coverage; health policy trends and current business challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to work with organizational decision makers- medical directors, hospital administrators, physicians, etc.
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills and experience working with various business partners including Sales, Marketing, Clinical, and Regulatory to provide insight into key economic and reimbursement issues.
• Research skills on healthcare economic and reimbursement trends, patterns, methodologies.
