Sr Cyber Threat Detection Engineer

Position Description/Responsibilities

Partner with threat intel, hunt, and IR to develop use-cases for detectionWrite detection and correlation rules to identify threats across our stackDevelop detection workflows, automation, and alert enrichmentIntegrate intel or technology APIs to increase our detect, prevent, and enrich operationsAnalyze and correlate data from various log sources and identify gaps in detectionAssist in identifying and onboarding logs that create new detection valueDeliver quarterly rule validation and purple team assessmentsDevelop deep understanding of data models, macros, field alias, and field extractions

Minimum Requirements

7+ years of professional experience at least one of the following domains: detection engineering, incident response, threat hunting, cyber intelligence Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Security Engineering, or Data Science

Critical Requirements

Exceptional Splunk SPL knowledge​Ability to write concise and logical detection rules​Practical experience with threat intelligence IOCs and TTPsExperience developing use cases and priorities in an Agile processAbility to measure coverage across frameworks (e.g. MITRE & Kill Chain)Experience developing metrics for key performance indicators in alertsExperience shaping requirements for features, tools, or data improvements. Knowledge working with data, scripting, and automating inputs and outputs.Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to adopt and uphold McKesson values

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$118,100 - $196,900
