Sr Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting needs, including assuming a leadership role to guide accounting personnel in daily tasks and reviewing financial data to support forecasting and financial strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Selected individual will be responsible for month end reporting with a variety of month and year end close duties:

Assist with timely preparation and analysis of financial statements including variance documentation. Monthly preparation, review, and analysis of assigned accounts and review of specified accounts assigned to staff accountants included in the consolidated Income Statement and Balance Sheet. Lead and support other accountants to ensure accurate and timely productivity and reporting. Record and review recurring journal entries assigned by Accounting Management. Proactively notify Accounting Management of any accounting/ reporting issues or concerns. Review, reconcile and eliminate consolidated intercompany transactions and resolve issues as needed. Interact with other operational groups including Legal, Supply Chain, Customer Operations, and Construction to ensure transactions are appropriately reflected in the financial statements. Prepare documentation for External Auditors. Contribute to the development and documentation of processes and procedures related to new or amended accounting pronouncements and/ or organizational requirements. Investigate and recommend resolution for account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance. Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue. Ad Hoc Reporting requests from Management and Executives Document accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls. Additional responsibilities and special projects will be assigned as needed to support the Finance/ Accounting Team and organization

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university with proven analytical skills, problem identification, and process improvements. 5 years of related experience; experience with a service provider a strong preference..  Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of Accounting theory, principles, practices, and regulations including FASB/ GAAP and SOX compliance. Financial system knowledge, understanding of financial controls, work paper documentation, and demonstrated ability to document technical accounting issues. Background should include monthly close, account reconciliation preparation, P&L review, variance analysis, and process improvements. Above average proficiency with Excel; Hyperion and Great Plains experience a plus Proficiency with MS Dynamics D365 Motivated, self-starter with a track record of delivering results Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

CPA with Public Accounting/ Audit experience Regulatory/ SEC reporting
