Posting Details Position Information Job Title Spring 2025 Film Production Assistant Department Admissions Job Description/Duties This position will be an essential partner in the filming, organizing, and editing of department/program videos for SUNY Cortland Admissions.
Responsibilities include: Operating film, lighting, and audio equipment Interviewing members of the SUNY Cortland Community Filming B-Roll of department offices, faculty, and students Editing footage and audio into clean and ready-to use clips. Organizing footage clips and labeling with metadata Collaborating on final edits of video production
There also may be the opportunity to additionally earn internship credit in this role. If interested, please inquire throughout the hiring process. Days/Hours Needed Number of hours- TBD, potentially 5-15 hours each week Specific time ranges- Flexible, weekdays preferred Campus Location/Bldg. Miller Building and Remote Required Qualifications Must be a current SUNY Cortland student Passion for film and audio production Experience capturing film and audio Experience and proficiency in video editing software Excellent organizational skills Excellent communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience filming videos in an academic setting Demonstrated experience in creative filming of people, B-roll, and artistic shots Experience setting up a controlled video shoot environment with lighting Demonstrated experience in creative film editing including audio editing and color correction Proficiency in graphic design and social media is a plus but not required
Physical Demands Setting up and carrying film equipment throughout campus Access to a remote computer Lifting and moving office supplies and recruitment materials
