We are seeking enthusiastic students to join our Spring 2025 engineering Co-Op program. Interns will have the opportunity to experience a comprehensive learning experience, combining hands-on work, mentorship, and professional development. Interns will apply their knowledge and grow their skills while working closely with Marotta team members to complete a summer project with the unique opportunity to present their project and internship experience to senior leadership. Interns also have the opportunity to network with other interns and employees through optional engagement and voluntary events.
The Co-Op program is available with various engineering teams across the company, including design, manufacturing, operations, and systems. Accepting applications until 11/08/2024.
Responsibilities: Design and analyze novel aerospace control components. Write assembly procedures, special processes, test reports, and other technical documents. Search for sources of supply of components and special process vendors. Support design and validation of fixtures for assembly and test operations. Product specification review and compliance analysis. Create training documents with verification tests. Review and create Engineering drawings with a focus on tolerance stack-ups, design feasibility, product improvement, and compliance with specifications. Participate in selected Design Reviews to help present design parameters. Perform basic trigonometry and solid geometry calculations, when needed. Work with other engineers in a team environment. Able to work full time, onsite during the spring semester starting January 2025. Required Qualifications: Excellent mechanical aptitude. Strong interest in Aerospace design. Proficient in 3D CAD. Pro-E preferred. Excellent grades, especially in core engineering courses. Must work precisely, accurately, and with close attention to all details. High level of system aptitude and knowledge. Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be a US Citizen Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or graduate program by the start of employment. Education: High school thru post graduate degree students are encouraged to apply – Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Engineering, or equivalent. Work Environment: This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required). Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The Engineering Intern is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel The Engineering Intern is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility. The Engineering Intern may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds These positions will be located at either our Montville or Parsippany, NJ office locations.
