Sports Medicine Outreach Program Supervisor

The Saint Alphonsus Sports Medicine Program is now hiring for a Supervisor for our Community Outreach program! **Position Summary & Highlights:** + The Sports Medicine Outreach Program Supervisor will support the development and growth of the Sports Medicine Program while focusing on outreach contracts and supervising Outreach Athletic Trainers. + This position works closely with the Sports Medicine Program Manager and Sports Medicine Clinical Supervisor. + The position is key in development of the outreach workflow processes, coordination of athlete access into clinic settings, and collaboration with sports medicine providers, outreach contracts, and administrative team. + This position will also facilitate independent marketing and community services specific to the Sports Medicine Program (e.g., concussion program outreach, community events, screenings, and education). + Assignments may involve work of a confidential nature and require a basic knowledge of the policies, practices, and procedures relative to the Sports Medicine Program. **What You Will Do** **:** + Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Organizational Mission, Core Values, and Vision in behaviors, practices, policies and decisions. + Manage clinical Athletic Trainer staff: + Responsible for hiring, orienting, supervising, coaching, discipling, engaging, developing, and evaluation performances for all Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs); + Maintain accurate timecards; + Maintain adequate staffing levels to support physician productivity; + Work and function in the clinical area in the absence of staff, patient care is the top priority. + Monitor staff certifications, licensing and competency compliance. + Maintain inventory on-the-field supplies and medications per budget. + Effectively and efficiently oversee the supervision of the Sport Medicine Program with the Sports Medicine Clinic Supervisor including, establishing monthly sports medicine meetings for all sports medicine providers, facilitating communication with major players and assisting in business planning and development for future growth. + At the direction of the Musculoskeletal Service Line Director and in collaboration with the Saint Alphonsus Rehabilitation Services (STARS) Marketing Manager, participate in marketing and outreach functions by meeting with representatives from schools and athletic programs around the region, referring physicians, PTs, and ATCs to market services and support in program growth. + Facilitate community services such as Concussion program outreach; and organizes community events such as screenings and athlete education. + Coordinate and manage ATC staffing for appropriate sporting events, works with regional Sports Medicine and emergency room providers to provide on-the-field medical coverage, as needed. + Implement Sports Medicine Program awareness items with sporting organizations, including website recognition/links, recognition in sporting event advertising and associated flyers/programs, on-the-field recognition (i.e., banners, etc.). + Remains flexible to oversee additional Sports Medicine programmatic needs, as requested. Able to provide clinical services consistent with the Certified Athletic Trainer as required: + Develop and maintain efficient clinical work-flow processes in a unique medical practice setting; + Independent decision making with minimal oversight in a unique clinical setting; + Coordinate patient care and facilitation of referrals for ongoing care, tracking referrals, chart prep, record retrieval and scheduling; + Develop and maintain a functional system for patient care related correspondence with physicians, referral sources, potential or current patients. **Work Locations** **:** + This position will work out of our Boise office (next to the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center) and will support ATCs that work across the Treasure Valley from Boise, ID to Ontario, OR. **Learn more about Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Services** **:** https://www.saintalphonsus.org/specialty/orthopedic-care/services/ **Minimum Requirements** **:** + Bachelor's degree required. + Licensed as an Athletic Trainer, as defined by their primary work state (Idaho or Oregon), issued prior to hire date. Those colleagues hired before January 1, 2020 must provide licensure or proof of application in process in their secondary state by August 28, 2020. Individuals hired in this role after January 1, 2020, must provide licensure or proof of application in their secondary state by August 28, 2020 or within six months of hire, whichever date is later. + Athletic Training BOC Certification required. + 1 year supervisory experience preferred. + Minimum of three years relevant and recent experience in a clinical setting preferred. + Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS. **Highlights and Benefits** When Saint Alphonsus takes care of you, you can take better care of our patients.
