Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Finance is searching for a Sponsored Research Accountant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Perform a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization’s financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirementsProvide professional-level administrative and fiscal support within a post-award sponsored project accounting environment and be responsible for proactively managing the associated functionActively manage financial reporting deadlines in support of sponsored projectsLeading a portfolio and taking actions, making decisions and resolving issues within the constraints established by federal, funding agency or other institutional policy or regulationInterpreting sponsor regulations and institutional policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required3-5 years of accounting experience requiredA combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Work Posture: This position is operating on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in office presence two days a week. Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States.
