**Job Description**
As part of our BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair (JSR) team, you will be working alongside some of the industry's top talent on the forefront of technology. We are currently hiring for an experienced operator/maintainer to support heavy lifting and transport projects using Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs).
The SPMT Supervisor will be a key member of the JSR team and responsible for the execution of onsite operations and maintenance using SPMTs and rigging equipment. Working as part of the Waterfront Operations team, you will be responsible for the full life-cycle within a project, such as working to industry standards, following detailed RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) and engineering drawings, mobilization/demobilization of equipment and operating the SPMTs.
Travel Requirement: 10%
As a SPMT Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
+ Supervising a team of operators and maintainers for the facilities equipment (up to 10 personnel).
+ Working with Transfer Supervisors and Heavy Lift Engineers to plan and execute loading/transport operations per movement plans.
+ SHE - Ensuring Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMT s) are operated in a safe and efficient manner.
+ SHE - Evaluating loads requiring movement on SPMT equipment and determine risk categorization.
+ SHE - Ensuring all safety, health and environmental protocols and procedures are adhered to.
+ Maintenance - Ensuring periodic preventative and corrective maintenance is completed.
+ Maintenance - Ensuring that all equipment is maintained and in good working order including adherence to company policy and procedures.
+ Maintenance - Cleaning, maintaining and inspecting equipment for defective components and notify management of any defects or malfunctions.
+ Operations - Confirming equipment is operated to the relevant standards and instructions.
+ Operations - Moving loads in line with project requirements.
+ Operations - Ensuring SPMT s are inspected before and after each use to ensure safety and compliance with regulations, and determination of corrective maintenance requirements.
+ Operations - Loading and unloading cargo in a precise and controlled manner; understanding and demonstrating proper load securement for transport.
+ Operations - Supervise assembly, disassemble and reconfiguration of SPMT equipment.
+ Operations - Supervising the loading, unloading, assembling and disassembling assigned SPMTs and auxiliary equipment.
+ Operations - Evaluating transportation routing requirements for adequate clearances and soil conditions.
+ Operations - Assisting crane and rigging crews with all tasks for site heavy equipment lifts and movements.
+ Communications - Communicating effectively with management, Project Managers, crew members, and clients.
+ Communications - Validating the completion of daily reports and maintenance logs.
+ Performing other related duties as assigned or required.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
Required Qualifications:
+ Experience operating SPMTs or similar heavy transporters. Both on-site operations (to include performing basic maintenance, inspections etc.) and pre-operation planning, providing advice, guidance, and when required supporting Project Managers or Project Engineers in the engineering and planning stages of projects.
+ Must be able to read, understand and follow engineered drawings.
+ A valid driver's license.
+ Advanced understating of maintenance and repair work.
+ Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
+ Experience troubleshooting fluid and mechanical systems.
+ Understanding of rigging and securing best practices.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
+ Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
+ Strong attention to detail and precision.
+ Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
+ Must be able to read/understand transportation drawings.
+ Be able to obtain and maintain Defense Biometric Identification Systems "DBIDS" Access card.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
What will put you ahead
+ 7 years of supervisory experience with direct reports.
+ Experience operating Cometto brand SPMTs
+ Understanding hydraulic suspensions, valve/sensor assignment in accordance with engineered transport plans.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
