Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Day Neuro

 

Hours vary: Monday to Friday / 8am to 4:30pm

PRN (as needed)

 

PRN Rate: $60

 

Responsibilities

Looking for PRN Speech Language Pathologist to work as part of the rehab team in our Outpatient Day Neuro Program. This is a PRN position at the Baylor Scott and White Institute for Rehabilitation in Lakeway, Texas. This program serves the Brain Injury population on an outpatient basis working with TBI, NTBI and post stroke patients. Therapists are responsible for patient initial evaluations including goals and plan of care, treatment progressions, weekly status notes and discharge assessments. Duties to also include participation in team conferences, family conferences, education groups, and other duties as assigned. The SLP will work closely with PT, OT, and RT to provide a neurologically focused treatment. 

Position Summary

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional and patient-centered treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community and prior level of function.  Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.

Specific Duties

Evaluate the patient's level of functioning and develop an individualized treatment plan aligned with patient and family goalsParticipate in discharge planning including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment

Preferred Skills:

Working knowledge and familiarity with AACNMES for swallowing (AmpCare preferred)

 

Qualifications Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology requiredCCC-SLP certification from ASHA, TX-SLP certification from the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and AudiologyBLS certification from the American Heart Association requiredNeurological experience preferred Additional Data
