Speech-Language Pathologist - Home Health

Job Summary:  Responsible for evaluating speech and hearing disorders.  Provides remedial services for communication disorders in accordance with physician's orders.  May provide consultation in Randolph Hospital upon physician request.  Provides or assists with in-services or education in Home Health and hospital areas as related to profession.  Promotes community understanding of speech therapy services.  Provides speech, hearing and language rehabilitation directed toward assessing ability or disability, restoring, and maintaining a maximum function with the patient's capabilities. 

Qualifications: Education/Degrees:  Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
License(s):  State licensure and certification in Speech Language Pathology valid in the state of North Carolina.  Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
Training/Certifications:  Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:  Should be familiar with acute care.  Involves highly skilled rehabilitation work with patients whose expression/receptive/cognitive communication and/or swallowing ability is impaired by developmental delays, aging, physical injury or illness. 

Experience:  One to three years in Home Health experience preferred.
