Job Summary

We are seeking a certified and licensed Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide inpatient care coverage at Mott Hospital, providing:

Assessment and treatment of children with speech, language, feeding/swallowing delayed or disordered development. Education of families regarding communication and feeding/swallowing development and methods of improving function. Examine, test, diagnose and administer remedial treatments for patients with speech disorders. Evaluate patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language and oral motor disorders.Record speech samples and conduct phonetic analyses of speech ability. Document test results and recommend remedial treatment. Perform evaluation with special attention to receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation and auditory skills. Confer with associates and institutes treatment utilizing corrective exercises and special equipment. Maintain active and supportive communication with the patient regarding progress, problems, home programs and other issues related to the therapeutic process. Analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Required Qualifications*M.A. or M.S. In Speech-Language PathologyCurrent licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Michigan is necessary.A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) awarded by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), or, eligibility to initiate a Clinical FellowshipExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenAbility to work effectively with medical and allied health professionals within an interdisciplinary teamWork Schedule

Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00-5:00

Background Screening
