Join our team as a Speech Language Pathologist!
• Reviews and evaluates physician’s referral and patient/patient’s medical records to determine therapy treatment required. • Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of available patient/patient data. • Confers with physician and other health practitioners to obtain additional patient/patient information, suggests revisions in treatment programs, and integrates therapy treatment with other aspects of patient/patient care. • Records patient/patient treatment, response, and progress. • Assists the administrator and medical director in planning of speech therapy services, as needed. • May instruct and supervise the clinical portion of training for students participating in speech therapist programs. • Diagnoses and evaluates speech and language competencies of individuals, including assessment of speech, language, swallowing, cognitive and communication and aural skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors. • Along with nursing and dietary departments, assesses the need for patients’ diet modifications and monitors changes on a regular basis. • Identifies patient conditions that may require speech therapy intervention through screening processes. • Plans, directs and conducts rehabilitation treatment programs to restore communication, cognition and swallowing abilities of individuals.
Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech language pathology. Must be qualified to practice in the state (licensed, registered or certified, as applicable) and in good standing with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or completing clinical fellowship (CF) per ASHA guidelines.
Prior experience in field, preferred
