The Speech Language Pathologist II (Bilingual-Spanish) will provide direct patient care for assessing and treating communication (i.e. speech/language) and oral motor disorders: administering department and program functions; may supervise graduate students and Clinical Fellows; maintaining documentation relative to services offered; and participating in intra- and interdisciplinary training programs. This position requires the incumbent to be bilingual in English and Spanish with a proficiency level that meets the Institutes minimum standards. 

Responsibilities Provide communication (i.e., speech/language) and oral motor assessment and treatment, with consideration of patients and families’ needs, interests, and cultural perspectives.Develop and update (based on data-driven information) individualized intervention programs for long-distance clients (including international).Train family members, personal care staff, and intervention providers of long-distance clients (including international) through on-site (at KKI) and via telehealth mechanisms and monitor fidelity of intervention delivery.Supervise graduate students, clinical fellows (concordant with level of experience and expertise).Maintain documentation consistent with Institute and Department expectations for all activities, as well as guidelines by The Joint Commission, CARF and ASHA.Participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities relative to patient care (e.g., team conferences and professional training (e.g., staff development activities).Maintain appropriate professional affiliations for state and national licensure/certification as well as following standards set forth by the Institute and the Program.Participate in departmental activities and outreach activities in the community (e.g., presentations, service on committees).Assist supervisor in setting and implementing goals for professional growth and development. Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish with a proficiency level that meets the Institutes minimum standards. Able to speak Spanish fluently with ease and confidence in a variety of topics related to work, home, leisure activities, as well as events of current, public or personal interest or individual relevance. Able to convey intended message with accuracy, clarity and precision without misrepresentation or confusion while being readily understood by native speakers.Current CPR certification.*Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by KKI.*Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities.

EDUCATION:

Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology, with related clinical requirements, is required.Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association is requiredMust possess and maintain Maryland State Licensure in Speech Language Pathology.

EXPERIENCE:

Three years licensed experience in Speech Language Pathology (including CFY), with at least two years documented experience in area of specialty. Benefits
