Specifications Support - Temporary
**Job Description:** **General Summary:** The temporary Specifications Support member, with overall supervision from the Manager of Specifications, assists in executing office and project-related specifications and technical tasks of simple complexity. **Essential Job Functions:** • Capable of generally reading and understanding construction specifications. • Assists in the assembling of construction specification sections into a project manual based on direction from Manager of Specifications, or Specification Writer. • Assists in preparation of basic specifications, including formatting the specs to meet the company or client standards. • Possess/demonstrates the communication skills to work with all assigned project team members, including engineering disciplines. Follows direction from the Manager of Specifications, or Specification Writer, and advises of any questions. • Coordinate closely with internal teams responsible for firm-wide standards for best practices, including sustainability, technical, and QA/QC. • Continually maintain specification templates, including codes standards, reference standards, and product identification. • Assist with development of best practices for quality assurance and quality control on issues such as consistent terminology and coordination between drawings and specifications. • Assist in continual improvement of construction specifications, including exploring best practices, new techniques, and new software tools. • Performs related duties as assigned. • General office administrative duties as assigned. **Employment Qualifications:** **Education:** • Bachelor’s degree, plus course work in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management preferred • 1-3 years related construction specifications experience preferred. • Active CSI Membership preferred. • CSI Certifications: CDT preferred. **Skills/Competencies:** • Proficiency in Bluebeam, BIM360, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams. • Knowledge in MasterSpec/MasterWorks, SpecLink Cloud, Specpoint, VisiSpecs, and SpecsIntact, preferred. **Physical Requirements:** • This position requires the ability to perform the essential job functions contained in this job description.
