We have 2 openings for summer 2025 Specialty Underwriting Interns in our Wakefield, MA headquarters location of Tokio Marine HCC Specialty Group. In this  role, you will have exposure to multiple lines of business as well as participate in the Tokio Marine HCC corporate internship program.

Performance Objectives:

Participate in onboarding program: During the first two weeks, attend meetings with team members as a part of TMHCC Specialty Group’s onboarding program. This will give you the opportunity to learn what each of the team members does and how they interact with each other to achieve business results. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the ins and outs of underwriting specialty insurance policies.

Assist underwriters and department heads: Throughout the summer, assist underwriters and underwriting administrative assistants on various assignments. Some of the responsibilities may include creating PowerPoint presentations, scanning, and uploading documents into ImageRight, accessing, and distributing loss runs, processing broker appointment paperwork, administering endorsements, risk profiles, worksheets, and instruction sheets, generating insurance certificates, and assisting with quoting and binding products.

Participate in the TMHCC Internship Enrichment Program: completing a cross-functional business case project, and weekly enrichment opportunities including DEI, Executive engagement sessions and business fundamentals.

Your Skills and Experience:

Must have earned 60 college credit hours, working towards bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, risk management or related fieldGPA of 3.0 or greater1-2 internships in a business environment are preferredMust be able to work for at least 12 consecutive weeks on a full time basis (35 hours per week) during summer, between the months of May and AugustDemonstrated leadership capabilitiesStrong analytical and communication skillsInitiative and active contributor with activitiesMotivation to succeed and seeking a long-term career opportunityExcellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacyIntermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
