Job Overview:
Under the supervision of the Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Manager, the Specialty Pharmacy Operations Coordinator is instrumental in enhancing the quality and efficiency of pharmacy operations at TriHealth Pharmacy Specialty Pharmacy. This position is responsible for delivering process improvement information, training pharmacy technicians and Medication Assistance Coordinators, and serving as a subject matter expert. The coordinator will also manage day-to-day operational performance and ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program (Required) 2 - 3 years of Specialty Pharmacy experience (Required) Strong organizational skills, high integrity, attention to detail, dependability, quality focus, and empathy Discretion and confidentiality are essential as this position deals with highly sensitive and private data current approved examinations are the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PCTB) or ExCPT Certification by the National Healthcareer Association and National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required Must be registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy TechnicianJob Responsibilities:
Manage technician workflow to ensure customer needs are met or exceeded. Coordinate and organize the pharmacy’s daily schedule of job duties Exercise independent judgment to delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work in the pharmacy. Ensure tasks are completed on time and hold others accountable for efficient workflow Ensure timely completion of non-clinical patient calls, prior authorizations, patient assistance, and shipping. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of pharmacy department equipment Maintain a clean, neat, orderly pharmacy stocked with adequate supplies. Manage inventory (supply and medication), including expired/recalled medications Assist Manager in hiring Pharmacy Technicians and Medication Assistance Coordinators (MACs). Develop training documents and job aids Train Pharmacy Technicians and MACs on daily job duties (new hires and ongoing). Document training and mentor new Pharmacy Technicians and MACs, providing guidance and support Identify gaps in pharmacy operations knowledge and support training for Pharmacy Technicians and MACs. Provide input on performance evaluations for Pharmacy Technicians and MACs Provide feedback and coaching to Pharmacy Technicians and MACs. Prepare materials for and deliver at team meetings Prepare schedules for Pharmacy Technicians and MACs. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment to foster teamwork and communication within the pharmacy department Address issues related to medication orders, patient care, or pharmacy operations promptly Resolve customer complaints and respond to customer requests in a timely manner, ensuring a positive customer experience. Model and share customer service best practices Provide guidance to pharmacy technicians and MACs on quality assurance monitoring and productivity standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to support the Pharmacy Department Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage and handling of medications to maintain compliance with regulations. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders Ensure compliance with standards for various organizations (BOP licensing, URAC, ACHC). Participate in shipping compliance/cold chain testingOther Related Information:
