Seattle, WA - Retail shopHow will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?As a Specialty Gas Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting and increasing sales and profits within a specific account base and/or geographic territory. This role involves leveraging your business skills and in-depth knowledge of Airgas’ specialty gas and equipment product lines, and specialty gas applications at customer sites to drive sales growth. You will be instrumental in prospecting, closing new specialty gas accounts, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, co-workers, and management by performing the followingThe salary range for this position is $80,794- $93,548, a 20% commission bonus plan, and auto allowance.
Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.
Increases sales and profit margin of specialty gases and related products through penetration to assigned accounts and by closing new accounts based on assigned goals and metrics.
Demonstrates products and services and explains features of each product and service.
Emphasizes benefits of Airgas products and services to internal and external customers.
Represents company product line to prospects and existing local and national customers.
Explains products to customers matching customers’ needs with the appropriate products.
Prepares quotations and negotiates pricing with both current and prospective customers.
Acts as a resource for other sales representatives in developing and maintaining specialty gas sales within their customer base, offering pricing guidance and technical support.
Answers customer inquiries and resolves customer complaints. Partners with branch associates and the quality team to initiate, investigate, document, and close complaints in Intelex.
Prepares required reports and keeps expense accounts per corporate compliance.
Keeps current with specialty gas products, gas controls, and related applications.
Responsible for communicating any concerns or requests gathered in the field from prospects and current customers with appropriate internal teams and escalating when appropriate.

Required Education:
High school degree or the equivalent preferred, with one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in science or related field is preferred.
Required Length and Type of Experience:
Minimum four years of prior outside B2B sales experience, including a proven track record of success in solution based selling and managing customers within defined territories.
SAP or similar software system experience. Intermediate skills operating a computer in a Google Platform, Power of BI, and Salesforce is highly recommended.
Experience with aerospace, analytical labs, medical, life science, specialty gases, and gas handling equipment and engineered systems product sales is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
Ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels of a diverse organization.
Understanding of customer segmentation and the ability to prioritize targeting customers that deliver the highest value to Airgas.
Proven success in utilizing a consultative sales approach to provide multiple layers of value to customers, resulting in a mix of sales solutions and products.
Deep knowledge of customers’ business, current macro-and microeconomic trends, industry trends, and potential new business opportunities.
Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, listening, and presentation skills.
Self-starter with a strong sense of motivation and urgency; ability to work and succeed independently.
Ability to solve practical problems and handle situations with limited standardization.

Primarily performs duties in an indoor office work environment.
Occasionally may require outdoor environments in various seasonal weather conditions.
This position will have frequent day and overnight travel (up to 25%) to Airgas locations and customer sites while being exposed to different inside and outside work environments, using the appropriate PPE.
Must have reliable transportation with a good driving record.
