PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Specialist Operating Practices will provide support to other stakeholders in the Operating Rules and Practices group. Maintaining/gaining knowledge of standard methodologies in training and regulatory requirements is critical to the success of this position.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provide detailed analysis of Train Accidents and Personal injuries Support CPKC submissions to CFR 240, CFR242 and CFR 217.9 Assist in development and implementation of Operating Practices Standards Assist in maintaining Operating Rules, Practices including communicating revisions Collaborate with other departments to support Regulatory and Safety Programs and initiatives

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Post-secondary education or related Railroad experience Must hold current CFR 240 Certification DSLE designation preferred Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Locomotive Engineer/Conductor Strong analytical abilities, with excellent team collaboration and communication skills Detailed knowledge of or readiness to learn federal standards Must be willing and able to travel Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and Locomotive Event Recorder software Ability to prioritize tasks and manage projects Commitment to support critical operations 24/7, including on-call duties during off-hours, weekends, and holidays

Management Conductor Program:
