What’s Under the Hood

DriveTime Family of Brands includes in-house financing and servicing through Bridgecrest, which is one of the country’s leading financial servicing providers. Bridgecrest services roughly $17 billion in finance receivables for DriveTime and other third parties. We service auto loans across a wide credit spectrum with the intent of creating a strong path to vehicle ownership for our customers.

General Summary: What business need does this position exist to fill?

This position involves partnering with DriveTime and Carvana to assign qualifying accounts for repossession, resulting in reversing a car loan to resell and monitoring transportation. The role requires attention to detail, timeliness, and leveraging multiple systems to accomplish tasks.

Essential Job Functions: What will be required in the role?

Complete a thorough review of delinquent accounts before creating an order for repossessionReview unwinds paperwork submitted to ensure 100% accuracy while partnering with DriveTime dealership to return documents and make any necessary updates    Once recovered, coordinate the transportation between the repossession vendor and dealershipUtilize sound judgment when necessary to have the drop location updated by the dealershipPartner with the DriveTime dealership to complete vehicle inspectionUndo loans, calculate and assist in processing refunds owed to customers in a timely mannerAssist management in reviewing vehicle damages for escalationSend documentation to customers to outline the unwind process and the impacts to the customerWork within our servicing platform as system of record for customer information and payment schedules as well as other systems to assign and monitor recovery effortsAssign and communicate status updates on Carvana assignments to the appropriate point of contactPerforms other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): What KSAs are required to perform this job?

Clear, concise and professional written and oral communications and interpersonal skills.Comfortable with legal jargon and ability to identify legal risks based on defined process and proceduresStrong time management and organizational skills, and ability to maintain a consistent and positive demeanor in a fast-paced work environmentProfessional and persuasive communication skillsAbility to prioritize and multi-task to ensure the achievement of assigned performance objectivesAbility to effectively apply professional acumen and communication skills to favorably resolve issues escalated from internal and external customersAbility to drive departmental compliance with FDCPA requirementsKnowledge of collection policies/procedures including skip tracing and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and local state repossession lawSelf-motivated with strong decision-making capabilities; ability to self-startAbility to work in an accurate, detail-oriented and highly productive manner

Work Experience/Education: Minimum education and/or experience requirements necessary to perform this job

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificationExperience with Microsoft Office such as Excel, Outlook and Word2+ years of experience in loss mitigation, collections, and/or financial services; administrative or data entry experience preferredAssociate degree or bachelor’s degree in business or related field may be used as a proxy for experience
