What Will You Be Doing?
Under limited supervision, responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of biweekly and semi-monthly union and nonunion payrolls, including input of wage and pay data of company employees, verifying accuracy of data and preparing payroll reports in a timely and efficient manner. This position serves as a contact for inquiries from employees and third-party vendors. Will also provide back up and support for other members of the payroll team.
Essential Functions
Overall responsibility for timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for approximately 4,000 employees. Research thoroughly and prepare manual checks upon demand. Works with ADP regarding the filing and reconciliation of taxes at federal, state and local levels. Uploads and verifies payroll files for processing into the ADP system. Maintains and updates the wiring of payroll and 401(k) funding. Ensures that data is input accurate and appropriate records are maintained and in compliance with local, state and federal laws. Maintains, updates and audits payroll and employee records for new hires, terminations, garnishments, levies and company and employee directed changes as necessary. Investigates and resolves any payroll issues. Assists team with biweekly and year-end payroll processes. Provides excellent customer service to employees and management regularly. Assists with the maintenance of time and attendance system.Qualifications
At least 3 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced/high-volume environment UltiPro system and Kronos experience strongly preferred Experienced with federal, state and local tax and payroll practices and legal requirements High school diploma or GED requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
