Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements, and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers. Defines, develops, and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies, and systems. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. 

Essential Functions:

Reviewing design requirements, drawings, and parts lists for manufacturabilityCreate processes to meet design and workmanship requirementsEvaluate tooling needs and availabilityAssists Cable manufacturing’s First Time Build team in building initial unit builds and prototype cable assemblies; updated processes as neededReviews problem reports; make improvements and corrections to process as warrantedProvide input on Engineering Changes Requests; implement changes into processesDetermine root cause of failures and drive corrective actionsCollects and analyzes quality related data and offers corrective action(s) to help eliminate future defects from occurringParticipates in process improvement activitiesWrites and updates workmanship standardsProvide input on engineering specificationsSupport OT (nights, weekends, extended hours) as needed to meet schedule requirementsEnsures company financial goals are met through timely completion of processes, projects, and other initiativesWorks on-site in support of manufacturing teamOther responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of cable manufacturing techniques and IPC/WHMA-A-620, class 3 workmanship requirements.Demonstrated ability to comprehend schematics, wire lists, wire diagrams, and blueprints.Due to the nature of our work, this position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.Advanced technical and operational knowledge and experience of manufacturing of highly technical devices.  Strong technical SAP ME, SAP ECC and Teamcenter experience.
