Special Education Teacher - Temporary - Spring Semester
Job Posting: Special Education Teacher Location: South Madison Start Date: 2 Weeks after Winter Break Salary/Wage: $50/hr Terms/Schedule: Full time - Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM Appointment Type: Full Time Description: South Madison is seeking a dedicated and passionate special educationteacher to serve students in grades 9-12 The ideal candidate will beknowledgeable in the following areas: + Co-teaching + Development and Implementation of IEPs + Elementary curriculum + Zones of Regulation + Problem Solving + Data-Based Decision Making + Collaborative Partnerships + Relationship Building with Staff, Students, and Families Responsibilities: + Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach and support inclusive classrooms. + Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs. + Utilize the elementary curriculum to create engaging and effective lesson plans. + Apply the Zones of Regulation framework to support students’ emotional and behavioral development. + Employ problem-solving strategies and data-based decision making to address student needs. + Foster collaborative partnerships with colleagues, families, and the community. + Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families to create a supportive learning environment. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred). + Valid teaching certification in Special Education. + Experience in co-teaching and developing IEPs. + Strong understanding of elementary curriculum and instructional strategies.
