Soybean Research Associate

The Soybean Research Associate leads and coordinates comprehensive soybean breeding programs, including Trait Introgression (TI), conventional crossing, and field activities. This role is responsible for managing various stages of soybean development, from initial crosses to field trials, while ensuring high-quality seed production and meeting key performance indicators. The position requires strong leadership skills to supervise field employees, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead soybean breeding programs, including TI, conventional crossing, seed increases, and field trials.Manage soybean development from F1 to F4 generations, PYT, and PPC activities.Supervise field employees and coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve 95% KPI for seed quality and quantity.Develop work plans, train staff, and manage resources efficiently within budget constraints.Communicate project status, crop updates, and potential issues to stakeholders and breeders.Support activities across multiple crops and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure safety and productivity of full-time and temporary employees.

Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Biology, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in soybean crop field activitiesKnowledge of seed crop research, production, and quality assurance practicesExperience with continuous improvement techniques and phenotypic data observations in regulated corn and soybean trialsDemonstrated leadership skills in cross-functional team environmentsStrong analytical and critical thinking abilities to address complex situationsProficiency in advanced analytics and ability to deploy new tools and processesExcellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with all levels of the organizationResults-oriented mindset with the ability to influence and facilitate solution.
