Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract position based at the Regional Operations Centre, Port Kembla Coal Terminal in the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW, approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

 

As the Sourcing Specialist, you will support Principals in providing leadership, strategic direction, and commercial advice in the execution of sourcing events and post-award management of contracts that enable the execution of normal business operations.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

 

Leading the development and execution of sourcing strategies for goods and services. Managing negotiations to secure optimal costs, supply surety, and supplier opportunities. Conducting market analysis and supporting the development of suppliers for risk mitigation. Ensuring regular stakeholder meetings to support effective category management.

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

Significant experience in a Commercial/ Supply environment (Mining & Metals preferred) Strong understanding of commercial sourcing processes and contract management. Expertise in managing cross-departmental projects and driving team collaboration. Proven track record in negotiating and optimising supplier relationships. Ability to apply data analysis to enhance supply chain and commercial contracting outcomes.

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

 

National Diploma or advanced certificate Commerce, Finance, Engineering or related field.
