Sourcing Specialist

Job Summary

The Sourcing Specialist will have responsibility for direct or indirect categories. The role will be actively involved in projects and analysis that will drive process improvement for the sourcing organization.  Other position responsibilities include maintaining data integrity within SAP and Coupa, the support of the Category Managers and functional directors in the execution of category level strategies inclusive of supplier transaction-level issue resolution and overall supplier performance measurement.  This role is also responsible for analyzing performance and preparing various reports that will support ongoing strategic management of assigned categories with an estimated spend up to $20 Million annually.

 

Essential Functions

·       Provide analytical and process improvement support to corporate sourcing group up to and including data analysis, internal reporting and overall process improvement recommendations.

·       Manage life cycle and financial actions of equipment and indirect spend categories in North American Avient locations.

·       Assist Sourcing Managers with managing and updating information for all sourcing systems, including SAP and Coupa.

·       Resolution of transaction level supplier performance issues in conjunction with plant and warehouse level personnel.

·       Inputting and approving information flows within SAP and Coupa, supporting business processes.

·       Communicate with suppliers and internal customers regarding status of orders, delivery and costs; work with both parties to resolve any issues.

·       Engage in collaborative problem solving with Accounts Payables and Suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve vendor PO and invoice issues that have occurred within P2P systems.

·       Assist Sourcing Managers with managing, testing, reporting and updating for Coupa and other sourcing systems.

·       Provide coaching and guidance to multiple Avient locations on the purchasing process.

·       This position will offer the opportunity to obtain Avient Kaizen certification.

·       Must be able to make logical and sound decisions working in a fast-paced office environment.

·       Support other sourcing related projects and tasks as assigned.

·       Some domestic travel may be required.

·       Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business/Supply Chain or related field. Relevant experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree will be considered. 

·       At least 1 year of experience in Sourcing/Supply Chain Planning/Inventory Control.

 

Additional Qualifications

·       Must have the ability to multitask with strong time/priority management skills.

·       Must have ability to communicate effectively in person, via WebEx, Phone and via email.

·       Strong computer and analytical skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, orr Coupa a plus.

·       Should possess intermediate organization, facilitation and problem solving skills

·       Should possess intermediate stress management and conflict resolution skills

·       Ability to represent Avient professionally and ethically in meetings/negotiations directly with supplier representatives and to set the standard for integrity and collaboration in internal meetings.

·       Demonstrated process improvement and change management skills.
