Sourcing Manager

Job Overview:

This position supports the Linde businesses and is responsible for managing locally, regionally, or globally scoped commodities by carrying out the strategic sourcing process with appropriate level of guidance and direction.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manages locally, regionally, or globally scoped commodities by carrying out the strategic sourcing process. Commodities included but not limited to cryogenic pumps, hoses, telemetry systems, manifolds and cryogenic tank, railcar trailer repair. Previous experience in these commodities is preferred.Creates and negotiates complex supply agreements consistent with Linde’s business interests.Extracts relevant data from diverse sources.In conjunction with Project Management, business, sourcing, and requisitioner, solicits and analyzes quotations; selects successful supplier/contractor and negotiates purchases; ensures that supplier management process is implemented.Procures equipment, materials, services, engineering, and construction services from approved suppliers at the lowest evaluated cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability and delivery.Measures the results of strategy implementation and provide actionable feedback to business stakeholders.Develops key metrics, forecasting and spend/save reports with the objective of enhancing the understanding of terms and market activity. Improves compliance and use of management control tools.Maintains a key role in commercial activities with suppliers, engineering, operations, and project management. Has lead role in optimizing supplier base.May use total cost of ownership levers to achieve cost reduction, cycle time reduction, improved service, increased reliability, and productivity improvements.Drives continuous improvement through Linde’s quality system.Is key contact for suppliers and various internal groups including corporate groups, operations groups, and project management groups for creating Purchase Orders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required; Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, Marketing, Engineering or related.MBA and/ or Professional Certification is desirableMinimum 3 years of strategic sourcing / supply chain/ procurement experience , along with reviewing and administering contracts.Demonstrated skills of negotiation, persuasion. Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communications.Ability to travel as operational needs require.
