Job Description

This is a mid-level role within Visa’s Global Sourcing organization supporting Visa’s People (HR) organization. The responsibilities range from building relationships with business and supplier stakeholders and working at all levels of the organization to drive strategic decisions and deliver savings while balancing the risks and regulatory issues from engaging third parties. You will need a strong sense of urgency and the ability to balance short vs. long-term needs. This role will independently lead deals and relationships based on the category strategy as well as support the sourcing category leads. You are accountable for enabling strategies to deliver sustainable results across a range of subcategories by identifying new opportunities for value and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

Deliver end to end sourcing services. Lead sourcing processes, including executing RFx processes, conduct negotiations, review contracts, and manage other sourcing-related activities. Ensure that all procurement actions are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with Visa's policiesParticipate in supplier selection and moderately complex contract negotiations, involving legal and other departments as necessary, to achieve favorable terms on quality, delivery, and price, and ensure end-user needs are met and deliver cost savingsDrive completion of simultaneous projects by proactively considering new alternatives and driving critical thinking to optimize resultsBuild relationships and effectively partners across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies, and colleagues to foster open and collaborating communication and influence changeCreate, write, negotiate, and review supplier contracts. Work with internal business partners to establish agreements that reflect the interests of the companyManage and analyze large datasets, and information sources to support business cases and the development of category strategies, negotiation plans, and internal discussionsTake part in and prepare materials for quarterly reporting, regularly recurring team meetings, and ongoing updates to peers and leaders around the organizationMaintain external focus by leveraging industry peers, organizations, associations and by continuing to build strong relationships outside of VisaProvide high level education to business partners on the overall continuous strategic sourcing process from needs identification, through supplier performance management across multiple partnersContribute significantly to the achievement of defined category performance targets and assist in driving the performance of associated suppliers, measure supplier’s performance to ensure performance meets expectationsCommunicate effectively and frequently, listen carefully, and actively seek and value the perspectives of othersSupport various category leaders in developing supplier plans with a focus on continuous improvement and innovationSupport a high level of change management initiatives that require a strong understanding of external industry’s best practices and implementation of Visa wide policies.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Procurement with a bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience in Procurement with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)

Preferred Qualifications:
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Deep understanding of cost models and performance metrics
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills using tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI
Past experiences in helping develop business cases for change through leveraging business acumen, market intelligence, and insights to drive a broad strategic impact across an organization
Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating plans and strategies
Strong stakeholder relationship-management skills and ability to communicate effectively, and collaborate with, senior-to-exec management
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on course of action. You need to be able to tell compelling stories through insights and data
Proficiency in purchasing systems and organizational interfaces (including Ariba, Coupa, DocuSign, and Oracle)
Demonstrated passion for People/ HR category understanding of Employee Benefits, Talent, L&D, Background Checks, and Payroll category elements including the ability to converse with, and influence, key People/ HR and Procurement executives on supplier strategy, sales models, market Visa levers, and financial modelling
Experience in strategic sourcing using a formal 7 step sourcing process.
2+ years supporting the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies specific to indirect categories
Experience working in a global and matrix organization

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 112,100.00 to 162,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
