Sonographer

Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of a registered sonographer, performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.
Responsibilities
• Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs
• Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
• Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• Current students to have an obtainable certificate within 90 days of hire with a Bachelors OR Associates degree (A.A.S.), from a CAAHEP accredited college or a two-year technical/vocational college with a certificate in the ultrasound program
• BLS required
Working Conditions
• Must be able to lift or move up to 100 lbs
• Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
• Typical equipment used in a clinical job
• Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
