An Apple Solution Engineer's primary role is to support SHI customers in their efforts to select, deploy, and manage Apple operating systems and technology. The Solutions Engineer works closely with the Apple Sales and Solutions Engineering Teams to provide subject matter expertise and advanced technical support for complex technical needs and requests across a broad range of industry types and customer sizes. They will work closely with industry partners in order to provide tailored solutions for individual customers. The Solutions Engineer will also work with internal teams to support Apple corporate reseller capabilities and initiatives. They will also mentor and guide associate engineers on advanced technical concepts and solutions.
This position reports to the manager of the Apple Solutions Engineering team and is required to report to the SHI Somerset, NJ office.

Coach or mentor to junior team members as required.Take the lead and guide the junior engineers on more technical opportunities and solutions Translate business needs into technology specifications and recommendationsWork with the sales teams in determining the appropriate technical solution for customersProvide pre-sales technical assessment then develop a proposal of estimates, consultation, and support around assigned partners and or bill of materials for a solutionJoin sales in customer facing calls to help gather customer technical requirementsAdvise customers on the latest product offerings with a good understanding of the supported featuresGuide customers on technical scenarios; upgrade paths, product road maps, and industry best practices and servicesStay current on industry technology trends through partner training and provide knowledge transfer to customers and team membersAssist company’s reps to create quotes along with a clear outline of the benefits of proposed technology solutionsDevelop a working knowledge of strategic partner product sets and attain required certifications.Perform customer scoping and discovery callsIdentify and promote our companies Professional Services by being knowledgeable of our company’s Services portfolioDeliver technology and partner trainings to internal departmentsObtain and maintain new and existing certifications; as well as competency trainings as required by management/needs of roleProvides technical knowledge in design, configuration, performance optimization, maintenance, and capacity planning for an environmentProvide demos to customer either remotely and onsite (if applicable) for product testing and hardware deploymentAttended onsite company, customer, and industry events as required by management Qualifications Minimum 3 years' technical presales experience3 years' experience with deployment and management of Apple devices.Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics or related focus Required Skills Advanced knowledge of the Apple ecosystem including but not limited to macOS, iOS and associated hardware. Course and deadlines are determined by the Partner Unique Requirements Position may require 10% of travel for trainings, conferences, or other activities Additional Information The estimated annual pay range for this position is $106,000 - $111,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
