The Solutions Architect - Snowflake will work with business stakeholders, solution architects and technical area leads to identify real-world problems and propose advanced solutions supporting day-to-day decision-making in various functional areas. This role reports to the Director, IT Data & Analytics and serves as an integral part of the Data & Analytics IT team.Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
You will help to define short- and long-term roadmaps for data platforms or their specific areas.Conduct solution assessments and/or design solutions to ensure that functional and technical specifications meet the identified business needs within the organizationYou will be involved in technology and methodology evaluation for various business functions analytical use cases, eg. including Data Mesh and AI-led applications.You will be involved in POV and POC activities which will involve Snowflake and ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF).Engage in and facilitate stakeholder discussions to understand, analyze and document business requirements, business processes, and technical specifications (including system architecture documentation) Configure, develop and support applications used in our Data & Analytics tech stack (Snowflake, ADF and Power BI)Design and specify integrations between solutions collaborating with stakeholders and other IT teamsCreate / review test plans and scripts; Conduct / participate in testing the solution to ensure the solution meets functional and technical requirements You will contribute to the growth of Snowflake technology practice and participate in the roadmap and go-to-market strategy definition.Lead system maintenance (review application patch, document test plan, and execute test scripts)Participate in the process for collection of requirements and writing of validation documentsFollow Integer standards for validation, project management and SDLC Participate in and contribute to status and planning meetingsSchedule and facilitate meetings, document action items, follow-up to drive resolutionCreate presentations to help communicate complex technical, organizational, and project concepts and statusResearch and advise on the best technologies to leverage and / or approach to take in developing a system architecture or upgrades to installCapacity to see the big picture, develop plans and architectures with a global mindsetAbility to account for project challenges on constraints including, risk, time, resources and scopeAssist in the development of solutions roadmapsData & Analytics Specific
Work with the Data & Analytics team on data ingestion strategies for the Data Lake (using ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, flat file processing etc.).Develop and maintain data management standards including documentation of current data sources, transformations and report specifications.Support user creation and access management of our current Snowflake reporting platform, providing the correct access to specific users as they come onboard.Ensure data quality including validation, cleansing/scrubbing, and ETL methods.
