Solution Train Engineer - Client Onboarding Lifecycle Digital Modernization

The Solution Train Engineer will be responsible for aligning the flow of value through Client Onboarding to deliver exceptional capabilities and solutions for our clients.

The Solution Train Engineer will possess a systems view of the entire development and delivery process and focus on the whole Operational Value Stream, inclusive of all aligned developmental value streams.

They will provide the 'connective tissue between the “intent” and the actual implementation and establish the critical connectivity between strategic leadership and actual implementation and help individual ART stakeholders and RTEs understand their impact on the bigger picture of the solution development, establishing the right balance of centralized vs decentralized decision-making.

Major Duties

Works with the product, data and architecture groups, and Release Train Engineers to coordinate work across the value streams, deconflicts deliveries and manages capacity across Program Increments.Understands the end state vision and solution architecture in order to guide the value streams on priority and escalate as appropriate to the appropriate governance groupsFacilitate synchronization across the Solution Train conducting regular syncs involving Solution Management, Solution Architects, Product Management, RTEs, and other necessary stakeholdersAbility to blend Agile and traditional delivery methods to form a cohesive delivery train in an evolving organization.Ensures frequent solution integration by confirming the ARTs are progressing towards their goals and ensuring the ARTs understand the importance of solution integrationEstablish release coordination activities by establishing a rhythm of release activities within and across the ARTsFacilitates the Solution Train-level Planning by engaging with all relevant stakeholders and ARTSEnsure visibility and effective interactions using ceremonies and tools that reach across the ART to facilitate speedy responses to impedimentsConnect ARTs with the right stakeholders as needed to ensure ARTs continually have everything they need to plan and work effectivelyEstablish Solution Train flow measures by measuring the flow of high-level items (solution epics and capabilities at the solution level to reveal solution development and delivery performanceAssist organizational leadership with alignment of the ARTs to the Value Stream and the relentless and continuous improvement of our ways of workingResponsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making, and Solution's risk managementDemonstrable mastery in various competencies of Teaching, Mentoring, Transformation, and FacilitationMentoring: Conveys Wisdom - Out of context and usually one on ones with Release Train Engineers, Product Management, executives and others on the trainWorks with the product, data and architecture groups to update the solution vision, Gathering feedback and metrics on performance and coordinating scheduling, attendance and agendas.Works with PMO in maintaining a Solution level roadmap and proactively measuring / managing progress across the ARTs.Collaborate and communicate with third parties, executive sponsors and senior management stakeholders and partner groups in particular the supported business functions to ensure that all initiatives are efficiently managed and delivered.Delivers regular progress reporting which present a concise, accurate status of the solution delivery, ensuring a consistent status is communicated up to the overall program.#LI-GG1#LI-Hybrid


Experience:

Seasoned expert with at least 5 years’ experience as a large scale Solution Train Engineer or Senior RTE.SAFe and Product Management qualifications preferred.Highly motivated, collaborative, self-starter.Ability to partner with vendors, 3rd parties, customers, colleagues and develop positive working relationships to create an open positive working environment.Detail oriented, strong analytical skills, advanced judgment capability, strong problem solving, and ability to manage workflow.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Superior time management and planning skills.Remaining calm under pressure, having excellent negotiation and conflict management skills with sufficient gravitas and credibility to work with the other PM’s on the project to manage resources, dependencies etc.Financial industry knowledge.Program management skills that has been developed over years of experience helpful.

Salary Range:

$114,700 - 194,900 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
