Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

Complete responsibility to design and develop  FACTS/AC/HVDC Substation layouts & interdisciplinary coordination that mainly includes:

• Contract reading, understanding the customer specifications and implementation of same.

• Prepare and coordinate key single line diagram.

• Preparation of plant layout (Yard Arrangement – Layout & Plan, Electrical HV / EHV Clearance Check).

• Preparation of civil task (Civil input) Drawings (Foundation, Conduit, Trench and other civil Requirements).

• Preparation of control building layout (Electrical Cubicles, Thyristors, Pump skid Arrangement).

• Preparation of cable trench & conduit layout.

• Preparation of grounding & lightning protection calculations and layouts.

• Preparation of section drawings / Erection Key Diagrams (Detailed Installation & Erection Drawings of substation).

• Preparation of load point drawings and load point table to civil for detail design purposes.

• Preparation of Installation drawings (Grounding Connections & Electrical Connections).

• Preparation of Busbar system data, bus bar sizing, short circuit calculations, SAG-Tension calculation, cantilever strength & magnetic field calculations.

• Preparation of civil foundation load calculations (Load input to civil design).

• Heat & ventilation system data preparation (Input to HVAC design).

• Purchasing steel, Al, conductor, connectors etc.

• Review of equipment drawings (Reactor, Capacitor, Surge Arresters, Current Transformers, Potential Transformers, Circuit breakers, Isolator, Wall bushing / Insulator, Cubicle, Cooling Skid and etc.).

• Review of tender / bidding specification.

• Plant modeling in 3D environment by using Inventor/Revit.

A Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.5-10 years’ experience in FACTS/HVDC/AC Substation projects.Good experience in Sub-Station design / FACTS or HVDC plant design. (Mainly Primary Design - Layout Engineering & co-ordination with other design concerns) and knowledge of Secondary Engineering, Transmission Line aspects, Control & Protection Design, Project execution.Preparation / review / approval of layout engineering deliverables (primary design deliverables of layout (Plan & Section), electrical clearance diagrams, magnetic field clearances, erection key diagrams, cable trench & conduit layout, grounding & lightning protection, civil task (civil input) drawings, typical installation documents).Preparation / review / approval of design calculations (Busbar (Flexible & Tube) sizing, short circuit force, cantilever strength, insulation co-ordination, sag-tension, spacer / critical span, grounding, lightning protection, static & dynamic load input to civil design).Preparation / review / approval of technical specification, technical data sheets, vendor drawings / data sheets.Vendor Evaluation (Technical) for switchyard components and procurement engineering.International projects experience & exposure of Standards IEC, IEEE.Exposure to working in 3D environment & exposure to Autodesk tools- Inventor, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks will be added advantage.
