How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Solution Architect, Technology Services, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of new business acquisition integrations and strategic technology services projects.  You will define and coordinate all activities to enable secure and supportable IT services and technologies within the SPX environment, ensuring effective execution across internal and external resources.

 

The Solution Architect, Technology Services will lead matrix teams through delivery activities with the mission of establishing service capabilities.  You will work closely with senior IT and business unit leaders to achieve objectives.  You will be responsible for alignment with stakeholders and maintaining a regular mechanism for adapting to an evolving technology, business, and compliance environment.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

Technology and Infrastructure Maintain current knowledge of technology services and tools used within SPX and broadly in the industry – specific focus on service delivery, including:  security, infrastructure, voice, endpoints and endpoint management, and networking. Provide input to the SPX infrastructure strategy in the context of mergers and acquisitions. Establish and maintain relationships with key business and technology stakeholders. Proactively manage risks, identify and escalate issues, manage stakeholders, and drive successful outcomes. Demonstrate exceptional communication skills by engaging at a very detailed level, then interpreting and simplifying to drive ultimate understanding, collaboration, and support.

 

Strategic Technology Projects:  Visually inspect target project sites to provide information needed for due diligence, discovery, planning, execution, and support. Assess the outcomes of discovery and partner with internal and external stakeholders to complete design and define the plan forward. Identify and document key decisions required to complete the project.  Partner with matrix teams to document options and drive the leadership team through to each decision in a timely manner. Drive effective and complete execution of all planed project activities. Develop and maintain playbooks, checklists and templates to ensure consistent and repeatable project outcomes. Maintain a record of the actual IT delivery effort and costs to create benchmarks and measurements to forecast the costs associated with future IT delivery efforts.

Required Experience

Demonstrated large-program management experience Wide breadth of experience in all facets of technology (infrastructure, networking, security, applications) Demonstrated proficiency creating leadership presentations and conducting workshops during execution; comfortable presenting to the C-level as and when needed Demonstrated people leadership skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated ownership and accountability Hands-on leadership style Experience in IT integration related to mergers and acquisitions Experience leading complex, global integrations and/or divestitures Experience leading complex technology services delivery projects Ability to both drive for results and lead thru collaboration and influence to achieve outcomes Ability to articulate a vision and strategy, and develop/ execute roadmaps that align architecture and business capabilities

 

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree 10+ years of IT service and solution delivery leadership experience 5+ years of hands-on experience within solution delivery

 

Travel & Working Environment

Hybrid schedule (three days per week on site) Ability to travel up to 30%
