Our client is looking to hire a Solar Technical Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities
• The Solar Technician’s assistant will be involved in all Solar installations.
• Having an electrical background to assist with issuing Electric certification will be 
beneficial.
• The Solar Technician’s assistant is responsible for assisting and reporting all 
preventative and corrective maintenance on the solar installations while making sure all 
HSE procedures are followed. 
• The Technician must ensure maximum availability and performance ratio of the solar 
installation and report on all events.
Staff Training
• Training of Staff on installations
Operations
• Evaluation of new products and services
• Pricing comparisons to competitors to be market related.
• Meet potential customers and suppliers.
• Building relationships and trust with suppliers and customers
• Site meetings and visits 
• Prepare and send customer quotes.
• Following up on issued quotations, closing the deal.
• Interact with group management and finance team.
• Ordering the material, arranging delivery and collection
• Oversee installation on site. 
• Direct the teams on what to do.
• Commission the system
• After Service Call outs
• Repairs on existing installations, PV- Systems and water heating systems
Stock
• Monthly Stock Take
• Weekly Stock reports to CFO
• Follow correct procedures when booking or ordering stock.
• Movement of stock to stores
• Maintaining stock categorization on system to ensure efficient reporting.
• Placing reorders with suppliers with Managing Executive approval, managing optimum 
levels of stock at all times
• Take inventory counts.
• Ensure all warehouse items are priced accurately and efficiently.
Sales
Set Monthly Sales Targets
Customer Focus
• Customer liaison / Queries / Stock Requests / Complaints
• Insurance quotes
• Dealing with unsatisfied customers and finding solutions for problems.
• After Service Calls 
Requirements
• Excel “must”
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans
• Knowledge and experience in solar and solar geyser installations
• Electrical Background beneficial 
• Technical skills- Have good understanding and perception of integrated system and how 
to apply effective fault-finding techniques in such a system.
• Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• To be able to follow correct processes and procedures.
• Be able to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and work effectively under limited 
supervision.
Key Areas for Assistant General
• Gaining new clients
• Gaining new suppliers
• Managing staff and reporting to Managing Executive
• Site Visits- Offer various solutions.
• Quotations for new projects and following up on proposed Quotations.
• Closing the deal
