Job Description

AECOM Belgium is looking for an environmental consultant to join our Soil & Groundwater team (Leuven or Ghent). You will work together in a diverse team on a challenging and diversified scope of responsibilities, ensuring the good completion of smaller to large size and complex soil and groundwater projects, as well as supporting other environmental business lines.

Qualifications

Key aspects of the role are:

Project Management - taking ownership in organizing soil and groundwater investigation / remediation projects. Make sure that your tasks/projects are executed according to high-level standards in terms of Safety, Quality, Client management, Planning, Budgeting and Reporting. Enforce AECOMs high safety standards in your own project work and with the people/partners you work with.

Client Management - effectively guiding your client and translating their needs into an efficient and solution-oriented concept.  It comes to no surprise that good client management increases client retention and promotes growth.

People Management – by coaching and helping junior profiles on site and at the office, you act as a mentor and help developing keen young talent. You also manage contractors and subcontractors to maintain an excellent working relationship with them.

Technical & Regulatory Management – supporting your clients and colleagues with the different environmental legislations applicable in Belgium. This requires having a good technical knowledge of the soil and groundwater remediation sector. Take on internal responsibilities on technical or regulatory topics. Further grow and share your expertise, as part of our AECOM technical practice network. Embrace digital tools for e.g. data processing and project management.

Business Development – commercial awareness helps identifying business opportunities to further develop the activities of your team.

Transversal Collaboration – working closely with other environmental teams throughout the Benelux and Europe and stimulate collaboration between the different units.

"Freedom to grow" philosophy - Balance office/home/site work, in a ways it suits you, our clients and our team.

Minimal Qualifications: Bachelor or Master degree with +2 years relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience working on contaminated land / consulting services.
