Sutherland Global Services is seeking Software Tester who will be responsible for implementing backend logic and working closely with database developer.

Job Description

The software tester is responsible for supporting & carrying out testing activities for the quality assurance stages of software development and deployment. This position will be responsible for conducting automated and manual tests to ensure the changes meet the requirements. Software testing involves the analysis of software, and systems, to avert risk and prevent software issues. Software testers are employed to find bugs and issues within a product before it gets deployed to everyday users. The software tester will need to be familiar with programming languages. The software tester is responsible for creating, documenting, and executing test plans for new enhancements, improvements, and bug fixes. This includes hands-on testing as well as creating, supporting, maintaining or enhancing automated tests. The software tester is involved in the full project life cycle while working with an agile team to take requirements through design, development, QA, and implementation. The software tester should have functional knowledge of an e-commerce solution.

Essential Job Functions

Creating and maintaining test data, tools, and scriptsMonitoring applications and software systemsWriting and executing functional test scriptsPerform unit, system and integration testing and participate in capacity/performance testing of an applicationRunning manual and automated tests in different environments including web and mobileExecuting test cases on multiple browsers and OSPerform load testing, stress testing, performance testing,Design test scenarios, scripts, need to perform regression testing, negative testing, retests and usabilityWriting bug reportsDocument defects in bug tracking applications (like JIRA etc.)Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or contentDevelop automation test scripts using Selenium-Web driver (Java)Participate in Scrum meetings provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problemsTroubleshoot root cause of the issues then report to respective team membersCollaborate with team/others to determine design specifications or detailsParticipate in project planning sessions with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Technical Analysts, and development team members to analyze business/technology requirements and outline the proposed technology solutionParticipate in design reviewsExcellent communication skills and writing skills

Experience Requirements

 

Experience with software testing lifecycle (STLC)Experience of testing web applicationsKnowledge of responsive testingExperience is testing integrations, API, Webservices, etc.Working knowledge of functional, GUI, Performance and Regression testing.Strong knowledge of QA procedures, principles, and tools.Strong verbal and written (technical) communication skills to explain bugs and other issues identified and produce bug reports, documentation and feedback to both product owners and software developers.Strong organizational and time management skillsKnowledge of operating Selenium Web DriverExperience working with an agile/scrum team is a plusAbility to work under tight deadlines on various projects simultaneously

QualificationsBachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in manual  ( automation testing experience is added advantage and willingness to learn should be essential )Hybrid Work Model Working Time: India 2nd Shift till 11:30 PM IST / 2:00 AM EST or 12:30 AM IST / 3:00 AM EST
