Software QA Engineer - Reuters Imagen

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Software QA Engineer to join our dynamic, product-focused Agile development team at Reuters Imagen. As a Software QA Engineer, you will be an integral part of our well-organized, focused, and active development team. You will be responsible for all aspects of software testing, actively participating in the development process from inception to delivery. Your role will encompass both automated and manual testing methodologies, and you will play a crucial part in enhancing software usability and functionality.

About the Role

As a Software QA Engineer at Thomson Reuters, you will:

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and automated test scripts to ensure thorough software testing.

Conduct in-depth manual testing to complement automated processes and identify issues.

Use applications throughout the development cycle and provide detailed feedback on usability and functionality.

Assess and evaluate user interfaces to ensure a positive and intuitive user experience.

Participate in peer reviews of colleagues' work, adhering to house style guidelines.

Identify, document, and track software defects using appropriate tools and methodologies.

Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure quality standards are met.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Assist in creating and maintaining test documentation, test cases, test data, and test results.

Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in software testing.

Perform additional tasks as needed to support the SCRUM team's goals and overall product quality.

About You

To be our Software QA Engineer, you will likely have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in software testing, with a strong technical background.

Proficiency in creating and executing both manual and automated test cases.

Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems.

Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies.

Experience with web-based applications and services testing.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Basic knowledge of DevOps is a plus. Demonstrates initiative in troubleshooting system configurations, test environments, and the deployment of automated tests.
